Pastor d!es after snake attacks him while on missionary duty in Plateau

A pastor with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Rev. Nankur Peter Kundul, has died after being bitten by a venomous snake while serving as a missionary in Boltim village, Gamakai District, Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Kundul reportedly died at Sabon Gida Clinic after suffering the snakebite.

Fellow pastor Rinkyer Asaph announced the incident on Monday, saying the area had recorded several deaths linked to snakebites, with at least two other Christians reportedly dying from snakebites within the past week.

Asaph described the situation as an emerging public health threat in Gamakai, an agricultural community where many residents depend on farming for their livelihoods.

He warned that the continued deaths from snakebites could discourage farmers from going to their farmlands, potentially affecting agricultural activities and food production in the community.

Asaph called on the Plateau State health authorities and other relevant government agencies to urgently intervene by addressing the increasing presence of venomous snakes and improving access to prompt medical treatment for snakebite victims.
